Last year, we calculated our corporate carbon footprint (CCF) for 2020 in cooperation with DFGE – Institute for Energy, Ecology and Economy.

The CCF reflects all company-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in CO2 equivalents and complies with the standards of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protokol), a globally recognised instrument for reporting greenhouse gas emissions.

The holistic approach thus covers Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions. Scope 1 comprises direct emissions from owned or controlled sources. Our Scope 2 emissions result from our purchased energy. Scope 3 comprises emissions from activities that are not controlled by us, but that occur in our upstream and downstream value chain.

99% (553,880 tons of CO2 e) of our emissions are Scope 3 emissions, most of which occur in production, transport and installation of the solar plants. During the same period, our renewable energy parks saved 987,052 tons of CO2e.
